ATTABAD LAKE

Attabad lake is one of the most beautiful lakes of Pakistan. Located in Gojal valley of Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan, Attabad lake runs along the magnificent Karakoram highway. It is about 20 kilometers in length and those miles of your journey on Karakoram highway are the most beautiful miles without any doubt. The mix of God’s artistic nature and extra ordinary human mind at this point is matchless which is depicted through great works of engineering that are seen in Attabad tunnels lying next to this astonishing lake.

 But the lake we see today demanded a big sacrifice by the people of Attabad during its formation in 2010 when a gigantic land slide gave birth to the lake. The land slide formed a sky touching dam in the way of gushing hunza river which suddenly stopped and the lake came into existence. The first sights of the lake are undeniably stress relieving due to its water which changes colour with the amount of sunlight hitting its surface. Lake’s blue water poured between grey cementy mountains presents a perfect picturesque contrast which can never be forgotten. There are plenty of hotels and restaurants by the side of the lake which facilitate tourists who are on a journey towards Kunjerab Pass. There is also plenty of activities available on the lake like boating, water scooting and pedal boating etc.

Swaik Lake

Swaik lake is a mesmerising lake located in Tehsil Kallar Kahar District Chakwal of province Punjab. Chakwal is known for its beautiful lakes and holds the name of lake district of Punjab. Swaike lake is one of the many beautiful lakes of Chakwal which is very easily accessible as it is just 10 kilometers away from Kallar Kahar interchange of M-2 motorway. People travelling to Lahore from Islamabad or vice versa can have a little break in their journey or more appropriately their hectic life and visit this lake in order to relax and enjoy the serenity of the place in order to get peace of mind before going to another city with same bustling life.

 The lake can serve for multi purposes and visitors  of multi taste can find it interesting as it provides the opportunity of diving and swimming with this you have ample room for sitting and cooking by the side of it. The lake is located deep down in the middle of hills for which you have to go downhill for about half an hour so on your way back its a good hike which is yet another reason for most of the people to visit this lake as it hikers’ paradise because of its trail which is very beautiful as it passes through beautiful trees with high hills on both sides. The water of the lake is always overflowing which is the reason for its freshness. It's so clear that u can see every stone lying on the base of the lake.
